Lewis Flax helps nonprofits and corporations develop long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
Extensive Nonprofit and Corporate Experience
Lewis fully understands the challenges nonprofits face, both from an outside consultant’s point of view and from the internal perspective of a nonprofit executive. Lewis previously served as a Vice President for IEG, a sponsorship consulting firm, responsible for the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area nonprofit sector. He gained insight into both the nonprofit and
corporate perspectives of numerous organizations. Lewis also led sponsorship efforts at Financial Executives International (FEI), a nonprofit professional membership association. He developed strategies for issues nonprofits routinely encounter—establishing partnership relationships as opposed to one-off transactions, packaging and valuing the offerings, and effectively addressing competing departmental interests. Through his efforts, FEI generated significant revenue gains. Lewis has walked in your shoes.
He founded Flax Associates in 2008.
An Advisor and Partner
To ensure his clients’ success, Lewis is a hands-on advisor and partner through the entire process. He helps his clients structure new platforms for corporate partners and takes a lead role in implementing them. He teaches new skills and techniques, and he even demonstrates firsthand some of the initial tasks. Lewis gives his clients the tools to develop, maintain and grow strong relationships and programs.
Prepared to Lead
Lewis is a consultant, coach, and guide. His goal is to help his clients develop skills they can use long after their work with him is done. Lewis is a certified instructor of the “Sales Advantage,” a Dale Carnegie Training business development course. He is actively involved in the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), where he has chaired committees for the Membership Action Team and served on the Marketing Section Council. He has extensive experience in training, presenting, and effectively engaging an audience. A frequent speaker for organizations catering to the nonprofit community, he has received high praise and top marks for his presentations. Lewis received a B.A. in Political Science from The University of Rochester and a Masters in International Management from The University of Maryland.
The Washington, DC area has always been home to Lewis. He currently resides in DC with his wife, Simone and their two children.
